Lottery sales lag 2019 numbers The Tennessee Lottery’s sales for this fiscal year are tracking behind last year’s record-setting performance. The lottery’s fiscal-year-to-date sales were down 3.5% through the end of April compared to last year. During the previous fiscal year, the lottery set records with $1.81 billion in gross sales and a $447.1 million in contributions to lottery-funded education programs. Through the first three quarters of the current fiscal year, the lottery has made $302 million in contributions to lottery-funded education programs, down from $329 million through the first three quarters of the last fiscal year. Contributions have been down in each quarter of this fiscal year compared to last year. Since its inception, the lottery has contributed more than $5.38 billion to designated education programs.
