I-40 crash injures two
Two women were sent to the UT Medical Center following a Tuesday afternoon crash on Interstate 40 in Jefferson County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the crash at the 420-mile marker blocked westbound traffic for some time. Carrie Ann Day, 40, of Dandridge swerved to the left when a tractor trailer in the right lane moved into the middle lane. When Day swerved, her 2015 Subaru collided with a vehicle operated by Billy Ray Hollifield, 57, Greeneville. Both Day and her passenger, Terri Nicole King, 33, of Cosby were taken to the Knoxville facility by Jefferson County EMS.
