Jefferson City burglary
Two men are in custody in connection with a Wednesday morning burglary in Jefferson City. Chief of Police Andy Dossett said shortly before 7 am, Jefferson City officers responded to Moyers Street after receiving a suspicious person complaint. While on the scene officers observed two males run from the residence. Raymond Colby Romines, 25, Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit but the second suspect, Seth Aaron Lee Smith, 31, of Jefferson County, fled into a wooded area. Officers learned that the property had been burglarized and later discovered a loaded firearm in the suspect vehicle. A canine team and officers from multiple agencies, including a Knox County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, responded but were unsuccessful in locating Smith. However,he was arrested later Wednesday. Now both men face charges of burglary, evading arrest, and the unlawful possession of a firearm.
