Shelton is being sought
A Cosby man who was wanted on a probation violation and who appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine is being sought following a Saturday night pursuit. Cocke County Deputy Lt. Max Laughter said he observed Bobby Kyle Shelton, 31, Hartford Road, in the parking lot of the 440 Truckstop at 10:22 pm. The subject appeared to be under the influence, but when the officer attempted to talk with Shelton, he fled onto highway 73. The pursuit continued onto Sweetwater Road and the Halls Top Road. That road is washed out and so the pursuit was ended. But Officer Laughter said the road was blocked at both ends and it is believed that the Shelton vehicle became stuck on the roadway. Now Shelton is being sought on the additional charges of DUI, evading arrest, resisting a stop, failure to yield, speeding, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, no insurance, violation of the registration law and no seatbelt.
