Arbogast injured in tree incident
A Parrottsville man was injured Friday evening when a tree he was working on, snapped and fell onto him on St. Tide Hollow Road. Parrottsville Volunteer Fire Chief Kenny Trentham identified the injured man as Lonnie Arbogast, 48, St. Tide Hollow Road. Cocke County Firefighter Justin Shelton said his agency and Parrottsville volunteers responded to the 6:45 pm incident which occurred on a steep embankment, and then carried the injured man to a First Call EMS ambulance. Arbogast was transported to the intersection of St. Tide Hollow Road and North Highway 321, and from there was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. At last report he was listed in critical condition. The injured man's father, Darl Arbogast, said the tree had blown over on the property of neighbor Carley Shelton, and his son used a chainsaw to take it down. "He had driven wedges into the tree when it kicked back and landed on his chest and shoulder knocking him to the ground," the father told the Citizen Tribune. Arbogast with chest, arm and back injuries was able to get out from under the tree but he was unable to stand up.
