IDB to consider incentives
The Cocke County Industrial Development Board(IDB) has been notified that an existing industry located on Highway 25/70 in Cocke County is planning to invest an additional $5,000,000 in capital for an expansion of it's local facility. The expansion is expected to create an additional 40 jobs and will be completed in two phases over a five year period, according to Chair Tommy Bible of the IDB. Last fall the Board adopted guidelines for offering incentives for either new business/industry or an existing business/industry to locate or expand in Cocke County. The decision to offer and grant such incentives is at the sole discretion of the Industrial Development Board. Bible said the Board will meet in the near future to consider awarding a Tax Abatement Incentive for this expansion project.
