King faces charge after jail cell attack
A Cocke County Jail inmate faces assault charges following an early morning incident in the facility. Corrections Officer Tristan Ball said she reviewed video surveillance which showed Helen King, 33, Grand View Way, Cosby, assaulting fellow inmate Opal Gunnels. "I observed Helen King grabbing Opal Gunnels by the hair and dragging her across the cell. King also hit Gunnels several times on the face and head," the officer said. Officers entered the cell during the attack, broke up the fight and charged King with assault.
