Laws arrest
A Cocke County man faces a number of charges following his arrest Friday night. Steven James Laws, 28, O'dell Road, Newport, had parked his auto on Holt Town Road, his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet, according to Deputy Travis Vaughn. A search of the auto revealed Neurontin and Clonazepam pills, 2.26 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, suboxone strips and a set of scales. . Now Laws faces charges of possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of schedule III,VI and a legend drug, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
