Foust robbery arrest
A Cocke County woman faces two robbery charges after separate incidents in Newport early Saturday morning. Heather Nicole Foust, 39, Rocky Flats Road, Cosby, allegedly approached Kristy Timmons, Ellison Drive, Newpiort, as she walked to her car in the Walmart parking lot at 1:50 am. Newport Sgt. Donald Coakley was told that Foust told Timmons that her auto had been hit. She demanded that Timmons exit her car "or a male in another car would shoot and kill her." Then Foust grabbed Timmons' purse, and as the victim fought back, she was grabbed by the throat. Timmons freed herself, wrote down the tag on Foust's red Chevrolet Cavalier, and then ran into the store for assistance. Police tentatively identified the attacker through the tag number and then Timmons identified Foust as her attacker through a social media photo. Another female witness also confirmed Timmons' account of the incident, and so warrants were issued charging Foust with aggravated assault, attempted armed robbery and attempted kidnapping. At 2:13 am Saturday, Foust allegedly walked into the Kenjo Market on the Cosby Road, approached the clerk, Allyssa Walker and told her she "doesn't want to cause problems or hurt her but she has a gun and will use it" according to Newport Patrol Officer Jessee Burgess. Foust then demanded that she be given money from the cash register and a pack of cigarettes. The robber also told the clerk if she calls the police, a man across the street with a gun, will kill her. She then fled in a red Chevrolet Cavalier. Later Saturday morning, officers spotted the auto and stopped it. When Foust exited the vehicle "yelling and screaming", she told officers they couldn't arrest her, according to Officer Burgess. Foust initially refused to cooperate with police commands, but eventually was taken into custody on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and theft. She also was wanted on a probation violation from Sevier County.
