Forrester charged with child abuse. A Cocke County father faces charges after he allegedly tampered with the medication of his son. Cocke County Detective C.J. Ball charged Joshua Barry Forrester, 35, Pleasant Grove Road, Newport with child abuse and neglect, theft and simple possession or casual exchange. The warrant in the case alleges that the child's mother, Jennifer Conard, reported that Forrester broke the seal and took some of the child's liquid Lorazepam which was prescribed for seizure activity, and replaced it with water. The mother reportedly recorded a conversation with Forrester regarding the incident. Detective Ball was told that a diluted medication does not provide the intended effect, and the child's physician said a diluted medication could be harmful to the child.
