High school arrest
Cocke County High School Resource Officer Sgt Randy Cutshaw has charged a 14 year-old male student with a number of offenses. The officer said on Monday he was informed that a school bus parked at the school had been vandalized. Wires were cut and the ignition keys were found on the ground several yards away. The windshield also had been sprayed with a fire extinguisher. Later Officer Cutshaw was informed of vandalism to the alternative school nearby. Vulgar language had been spray painted onto the building. The damage is estimated at more than $2,000. The teen also is a suspect in a theft and vandalism that occurred the same day at the school bus garage. The defendant was identified on video surveillance at the school, and currently is charged with three counts of vandalism, two counts of theft, three counts of criminal trespassing and two counts of burglary. Bond on the Juvenile Court charges has been set at $10,000.
