Town and Country Drugs burglary
Newport authorities are continuing their investigation into a Sunday morning burglary of the Town and Country Drug Store on the Cosby Road. Sgt. Derrick Wright said he responded to a burglar alarm at 4:25 a.m. to find a front window had been broken out. Bricks and a claw hammer were found outside on the ground, and a brick was inside the business. Video surveillance showed a subject enter through the window, take narcotics from the pharmacy area and then leave the building, all within a minute. The burglar wore white gloves and tennis shoes, tan cargo pants, blacl long sleeved shirt, a blue hat with white strips on the bill and with a red bandanna over his face. An inventory of the loss is being conducted today.
