Mathis run
A North Carolina man in Cocke County Circuit Court on Monday for arraignment on recent charges, tried to take off when told he has a new additional charge. Ronald Dale Mathis, 48, Clyde, was in court for arraignment by Judge Ben Hooper on charges of criminal trespass and theft of merchandise from Lowes. But while in the court he was served with an additional charge; violation of probation. He turned and tried to flee but was quickly apprehended by court bailiffs as he left the courtroom. Officers did not lodge an additional charge in connection with the attempted escape.
