Del Rio couple faces meth charges
A Del Rio couple was jailed by Newport police Tuesday on methamphetamine charges. Newport Captain Amy Gentry found the couple in a vehicle with others after the auto was stopped for a brake violation. Lisa Jenkins, 51, Old Long Creek Road, was found stuffing something into her pants, and she told police she was trying to hide meth. The woman also was in possession of a syringe loaded with a clear liquid. As a result she is charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Her husband, Harold Dean Jenkins, 63, had a meth pipe and also eight baggies of methamphetamine and suboxone. In May he was charged with the sale, delivery and manufacture of meth. Now Jenkins is charged with possession of meth and suboxone for resale as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, altered tag which had been reported stolen, as well as a number of traffic violations.
