Gas prices
Gas prices in Tennessee are letting up after a leak in the Colonial Pipeline suppressed gasoline supplies two weeks ago . "The reduction in pump prices are a good sign that supplies are reaching the areas most affected by the outage," says Mark Jenkins, of AAA . "It could take a couple of weeks, but prices should eventually return to levels seen before the leak, then follow a downward trend through the rest of the year." During the 12-day shutdown, the state average price rose 17 cents in Tennessee. Since restoring flow last Wednesday, state averages in Tennessee were up 17 cents a gallon. Despite the recent surge in gasoline prices, Tennessee gas averages are a little more than a dollar less than two years ago, when prices exceeded $3 a gallon.
