Russell crash
The lone driver in a Sunday evening crash in Newport was injured when she hit a utility pole on West Broadway. Newport Sgt. Derek Wright said Rachel Russell, 17, Duncan Street, Newport, told him she was eastbound when she started feeling bad and passed out. The 2002 Chevrolet struck a utility pole near the Highway 25E intersection at 9:33 p.m. Ms. Russell was transported by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No charges were filed.
