Lively charged with aggravated robbery
A resident of Motel Six in Newport, taken into custody Tuesday on a shoplifting offense, now faces additional charges. Newport Patrol Officer Bobby Henderson said he arrested Jacob Lively, 32, after he fled Walmart with items valued at $137. But the suspect also was wanted for the aggravated robbery of the Kenjo Market on the Cosby Road, the night of September 20. Lively allegedly entered the convenience store, armed with a knife, went behind the counter and demanded all the cash from the clerk. After being arrested he told Detectives Jason Ramsey and Derrick Webb that he took $317 in the holdup. Also on September 23, Lively was found in an auto in possession of a loaded revolver, syringes, cut straws,baggies and methamphetamine. Another passenger in the car told police that Lively was about to "shoot-up" prior to the arrest. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, methamphetamine,and drug paraphernalia, as well as driving on a revoked license.
