I-40 traffic delayed on Monday
Traffic on westbound I-40 was blocked Monday afternoon when a Toyota Tacoma pickup pulling a goose-neck trailer rolled near the 443 mile marker. The 12:20 p.m. incident occurred on the bridge over the French Broad River and shut down both westbound lanes, according to Cocke County Chief Deputy John Carroll. Cocke County officers and firefighters along with the Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire units responded to the scene and assisted the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Although no injuries were reported, westbound traffic was completely blocked until after 1 p.m.
