Hickman family arrested
A Jefferson County man with a lengthy drug arrest record, along with his two children have been indicted by a Jefferson County Grand Jury. Sheriff G.W. "Bud" McCoig said he was joined Wednesday evening by several of his deputies when he went to the home of Jeffrey Lynn Hickman, 51, Randall Road, Strawberry Plains to serve sealed presentments on Hickman and his children, Jeffrey Lynn Hickman, II, 20, and Caterina Hickman, 24. The father and Ms. Hickman, are charged with four counts each of the sale and delivery of Oxymorphone. Jeffrey Lynn Hickman,II, is charged with two counts of the sale and delivery of a legend drug. The sheriff said the elder Hickman has been arrested at least ten times, over the past 20 years. "They were using their home for selling drugs, but I plan to padlock and seize the residence," McCoig said."We've arrested him over and over." In fact, the sheriff says Jeffrey Lynn Hickman was on probation for a drug conviction, at the time of this week's arrest. "I want to thank the community for their patience and cooperation, now hopefully the defendants will be in jail," added McCoig. The action by the grand jury was the culmination of an undercover investigation by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force, in cooperation with the sheriff's office.
