Bailey arrest
A Cocke County woman faces numerous charges following her arrest this morning by Deputy Sgt. Bob Schaff of the Cocke County Sheriff Department. The officer says he found Alexas Deon Bailey, 21, Elk Way, Newport, passed out in her car in a convenience store parking lot. It was raining at the time and the sunroof of the auto was open. Bailey's license was suspended for an accumulation of convictions last year, and a search of the auto revealed loose pills, suboxone, seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, baggies, spoons with residue etc. She was jailed on charges of DUI, possession of suboxone and methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia driving on a suspended license, no insurance, registration violation, driving an unregistered vehicle on the highway and violation of the implied consent law. While being booked into the jail, Bailey was found to be in possession of Alprazolam pills so she also is charged with introduction of schedule IV into a penal institution.
