Clevenger injured in Saturday incident
A Newport woman required medical treatment on Saturday after she was struck by an auto operated by Newport Alderman Bobby Knight, in the McDonald's parking lot. Newport Patrol Officer David Clevenger said he found Cathy Clevenger, 64, English Street, Newport, lying on the parking lot. She said Knight was backing from a parking spot when she was struck, and as she fell she tried to catch herself, resulting in her arm injury. The 73 year-old Knight said he didn't see Clevenger behind him as he backed up. First Call EMS took Ms. Clevenger to the Newport Medical Center for treatment of her arm injury.
