Charles.....the Survivor
A special guest is scheduled to make an appearance at this year's Newport Harvest Street Festival Charles the Pig will be at the Street Festival on October 7. You remember Charles......he survived last falls' wildfire ravage in Gatlinburg by burrowing under the mud and saving himself from the devastation around him. Charles received veterinary treatment in Knoxville and has made a complete recovery. He will be in attendance with his new book which is “hoofgraphed.” Cocke County Partnership Tourism Director Linda Lewanski says festival-goers will have the opportunity to have their photo made with Charles. The proceeds from his product sales will go toward rebuilding his family’s home.
