Dr. Martin Luther King Day
Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Day in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the death of the 39 year-old civil rights leader, who was murdered on April 4, 1968. Governmental offices, schools and banks are closed today. A special commemoration for Dr. King will be held at 9 this morning at the Jefferson City Public Library. A complimentary breakfast will be served and the program will begin at 9:30.
