Cocke Jail inmates charged
A total of five Cocke County Jail inmates face charges following a Sunday cell search which resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs. Deputy Lt. Michael Whitmer said inmates had gone to the recreation area and when they returned, illegal drugs were found and inmates failed drug tests. Christina Nicole Collins, 32, East Broadway, Newport was found to have methamphetamine and amphetamine hidden in a body cavity. Collins is charged with the Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution. The four male inmates who face the same charge are identified as; Billy Joe Weisbrodt, 36, Ninth Street, Newport; Kenith Ball, 42, Fowlers Grove Road, Newport; Christopher James Smith, 40, White Oak Avenue, Newport and Frank Jenkins, 62, Melton Road, Newport.
