FSA Committee
FARM SERVICE AGENCY ACTING ADMINISTRATOR STEVE PETERSON HAS A MESSAGE FOR FARMERS AND RANCHERS. ITS TIME AGAIN FOR ANNUAL COUNTY COMMITTEE ELECTIONS AND CANDIDATES ARE BEING SOUGHT. IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE LOCAL F-S-A COUNTY COMMITTEE, NOW IS THE TIME TO SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION. THROUGH AUGUST 1, YOU CAN NOMINATE YOURSELF OR A CANDIDATE OF YOUR CHOICE FOR YOUR LOCAL F-S-A COUNTY COMMITTEE. ALMOST ANYONE OF LEGAL VOTING AGE PARTICIPATING OR COOPERATING IN F-S- AS PROGRAMS CAN BE NOMINATED. COUNTY COMMITTEES ARE MADE UP OF FARMERS, RANCHERS AND FORESTERS ELECTED BY OTHER PRODUCERS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES TO GUIDE THE DELIVERY OF FARM PROGRAMS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. COMMITTEE MEMBERS PLAY A CRITICAL ROLE IN THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF F-S-A. THERES AN INCREASING NEED FOR REPRESENTATION FROM UNDERSERVED PRODUCERS, ESPECIALLY BEGINNING, WOMEN AND OTHER MINORITY FARMERS AND RANCHERS TO GET INVOLVED.
