Roe talks re-election Incumbent First District US Congressman Phil Roe, (R-TN) launched his reelection campaign on Monday. In talking about his platform, Roe said, “At the end of the Obama Administration, most East Tennesseans felt our country was headed in the wrong direction. I’ve fought tirelessly alongside the president to get the largest tax cuts since the Reagan administration signed into law, which has lowered taxes for almost every American, created jobs and given us the best economy in years. We’ve provided funding for a wall at our southern border; began rebuilding our military; stood together for the right to life of the unborn; acted to protect Tennesseans from Obamacare; and worked together to fight the opioid crisis that is ravaging our communities. East Tennesseans feel a renewed sense of optimism and hope, which is a direct result of President Trump’s leadership and the policies I’ve supported.”
