Bus drivers needed
Are you looking for a part-time job? How about being a school bus driver? The Cocke County school system is currently looking for four full-time drivers as well as substitute drivers. Director of Transportation for the Cocke County school system is Chris Norton, who says pay for a driver varies with experience but averages $57 per day. "In addition we have health insurance, state retireemnt, sick days, paid personal days and drivers are off during the summer months. Substitute drivers are always needed and have varying schedules which are flexible. There currently are four full-time vacancies. The school system requires a high school diploma, a CDL Class B or above, airbrake, passenger and school bus endorsements. A driver must pass a DOT physical, background check and a substance test. Norton says the school system assists a prospective driver to get a CDL, with training. Interested prospective drivers can contact Norton at 423-623-2757.
