Cocke County fire
A Saturday afternoon fire destroyed a single-wide mobile home on Grassy Fork Road in Cocke County. Lt. Justin Shelton of the Cocke County Fire Department said the fire was reported at 1:49 pm in the home owned by Marjorie Ford and occupied by Tara Ford. Lt. Shelton said the flames were contained to one side of the residence however smoke and heat damaged the rest of the home. The Grassy Fork and Cosby Volunteer Fire Departments also responded to the blaze. The cause of the fire is undetermined and the Cocke County Sheriffs Office is investigating. Lt. Shelton estimated the loss totals $50,000.
