Highway 25E crash
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says both drivers were injured in a Friday collision on Highway 25E in Cocke County. The 1 pm crash occurred near the Rankin Hill Road intersection. According to the trooper's report, Lelia Osborne, 60, Newport had stopped in the eastbound lane attempting a left turn into a private drive. Her 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was struck in the rear by a 2008 Ford Escape operated by David Woods III, 42, Newport. Both drivers were transported by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical Center for treatment. In addition, Woods was charged with following improperly.
