Denton arrests
A couple was jailed Tuesday by Newport police following an altercation in their home on McSween Springs Road. Newport Patrol Officer Paul Weber said Breanna Denton, 30, and Jason Denton, 25, argued as Mrs. Denton prepared to leave for active military duty. Her husband kept dumping the contents in her luggage onto the floor, then bit his wife on the finger, kicked her on the face and refused to allow her to leave the home. But as police prepared to arrest Mr. Denton, his wife began arguing against his arrest, and as a result, she was jailed on a disorderly conduct charge. Jason Denton then was jailed on charges of aggravated domestic assault as well as kidnapping. At the jail, he allegedly spat on the face of Corrections Officer Jason Dean and so he was charged with an additional assault.
