Today is election day
Today is election day in Tennessee. The polls will be open from 9 am till 8 pm this evening. The only contested race in the county general election is in the First District at Del Rio, Grassy Fork, and Edwina, for Constable. Josh Spurgeon and Randy Laws are the candidates. Also Angie Ray Shelton is running unopposed for re-election to her post as Property Assessor. The top Republican U.S. Senate candidates are Bill Hagerty and Manny Sethi. The top candidate for the Democratic nomination for the US Senate seat is James Mackler. That seat is being vacated by Lamar Alexander. There are 16 candidates for the Republican nomination, and one candidate for the Democrat nomination, for the First District US House seat being vacated by Phil Roe. The NewsSource will have the final results after they are tabulated tonight.
